Legal Structure
Sanctus’s constitution is governed by the charities and companies’ legislation of England and Wales and by its own Memorandum and Articles of Association. Its objectives include, as set out in the Memorandum:
Relief of poverty with food provision of food for the homeless, destitute or those fallen on hard times.
Relief of poverty with services and programmes for rehabilitation and personal development for the homeless, destitute and those fallen on hard times.
Relief of poverty through building confidence, esteem and skills for preparation for work and/or reintegration into society of homeless, destitute and those fallen on hard times.
Relief of poverty through building a day centre and/or refuge and workshop space for the self-improvement of those who have been knocked by life.
Sanctus has a set of Trustees who are responsible for the overall strategy, policy and direction of the charity as well as monitoring the delivery of the charity’s objectives. The Trustees seek to have a representative board made up of those with lived and professional experience. The Trustee board contains the original founders of the charity, as well as additions added across the charity’s history.
